Family Housing
Our family housing is available in Kindersley under the social housing program. The social housing program seeks to provide safe and adequate housing to families in need. For families, social housing is intended to be a short-term housing option. As families improve their economic circumstances and are able to afford housing in the private market, they typically seek private rental housing or home ownership. That ensures that social housing units are available to those in greatest need.
Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC) created some parameters to determine who is eligible for Social Family Housing. This includes a) All members of the applicant’s household must be physically and legally in Canada b) The applicant’s household income must be at or below the Yearly Income Maximums (as outlined in the table to the right) and c) The household assets (property owned by members of a family such as recreational vehicles and necessary transport vehicles, land or jewelry) are no more than $50,000.
*Yearly income determined by most current Income Tax forms, see the Social Housing Program Handbook page 3 for more information as to what is counted as income
**A dependent is a member of the household who is a child, or an adult with a permanent physical or cognitive disability, or a senior, who is fully dependent on another member(s) of the household. A dependent can be a parent, son, daughter, grandparent, brother, sister, aunt, uncle or in-law parent. A person who is between the ages of 18 and 25 and attending school or university full time is considered a dependent during the schooling period.
***When determining eligibility, a disability is defined as a permanent physical disability that has a housing-related impact. (The disability must limit the person’s ability to access and/or function independently within typical housing in order to be considered a physical disability.)

Our senior housing is available in Kindersley for individuals who are 55+ under two programs: the social housing program and the senior housing program.
The social housing program seeks to provide comfortable rental housing to seniors with low incomes, as the rent charged is based on the monthly income.
